How to play Balloon Pop

How to play

Balloon Pop is sixty seconds of pure popping joy. Colorful balloons drift up from the bottom of the screen, and your job is to tap or click every one you can before it floats away. Most balloons are worth 10 points each, but keep your eyes peeled for rare golden balloons worth a whopping 50 points. Lurking among the fun ones are sinister black balloons — pop one of those and you lose a life. You only get three lives, so precision matters as much as speed. The game ends when the sixty-second timer runs out or when your last life pops, and your final score is the number to beat next time.

Controls

Mouse: move the cursor over a balloon and click to pop it. Touch: simply tap the balloons with your finger — multi-touch works, so use two thumbs for double the popping power. Click the Start Popping button to begin, and Play Again after the game ends to chase a higher score. There are no keyboard controls needed; this one is all about fast fingers.

Tips

Prioritize golden balloons the instant you spot one — they are rare and worth five regular pops. Slow down slightly when the screen gets crowded, because black balloons love to hide behind colorful ones and one careless tap costs a life. Pop balloons near the top of the screen first since they are about to escape, and let slow low balloons wait their turn. In the final ten seconds, go all-out: lives no longer matter once the clock is nearly done.

Scoring

Every regular balloon earns 10 points and every golden balloon earns 50 points, with no limit on how many you can pop. Black balloons cost one life instead of points — there is no score penalty for avoiding them. Your score, remaining time, and lives are always visible in the score bar, and the game records your personal best so every session has a target to smash.
