How to play Gem Match
How to play
Gem Match is a fast match-3 puzzle on an 8×8 board. You get 60 seconds: click or tap a gem, then click an adjacent gem to swap them. Line up three or more identical gems in a row or column and they pop — the gems above tumble down and fresh ones drop in. Every pop can trigger a cascade, chaining automatic matches into big combo multipliers. A swap that makes no match simply swaps back, with no penalty. When the timer hits zero, your final score is shown.
Controls
Click or tap a gem to select it — it glows orange — then click a neighboring gem to swap. On a keyboard, move the dashed cursor with the arrow keys and press Enter or Space to select and swap. It plays great on phones too: everything is tap-friendly, so mouse, touch, and keys all work.
Tips
Hunt for L and T shapes — one swap can clear two lines at once and start a huge cascade. Work from the bottom of the board upward, since falling gems create the most chain reactions. Watch the combo meter: follow-up matches score ×2, ×3 and beyond, so one clever swap can outscore five ordinary ones. In the last ten seconds, swap as fast as you can — even lucky random swaps trigger cascades.
Scoring
Each popped gem is worth 10 points multiplied by the cascade step. The first match scores ×1, automatic follow-ups score ×2, ×3, and so on. There are no penalties for bad swaps, so the best strategy is pure speed: more swaps per minute means more cascades and a bigger final score. Can you break 5,000 points?
